Garfield County Health Center, Inc.
Garfield County Health Center, Inc. (GCHC) is a critical access hospital and skilled nursing facility. An average of 16-18 residents make their home at GCHC allowing care to be provided on a very personal, family level. The healthcare facility serves as the largest employer in Garfield County with 30 employees. As a nurse you will cover all areas of the facility during each shift, from the nursing home to emergency room, lab and hospital. GCHC remains a family friendly employer with self-scheduling encouraged as co-workers strive as a team to provide care for the community.
Clean air and a safe community with low cost of living add to the reasons people enjoy living in the area. Jordan, the county seat and only “town” in Garfield County boasts many businesses. A grocery store, drug store, motels, gas/service stations, hardware store, craft store, bait shop, hair salon, and flower shop are a few of the many services and stores serving the people of Garfield County. The local schools are small enough to allow for individualized attention to the students. Junior high and high school sports are at the heart of the community. Basketball, volleyball, football and track are offered to the students.
Recreation abounds in Garfield County. Fort Peck Lake is located only 25 miles north of town. The lake serves as a favorite area to boat, water ski, swim, and fish. Ft Peck is well known to walleye and bass fishermen and is also good for northern pike, lake trout and other species. Hunting is another outdoor activity enjoyed in the area as deer, antelope, elk, turkey, grouse and pheasant populate the area.
