St. Luke Community Healthcare

St

Called the Heart of the Mission Valley, this community owned network of healthcare providers delivers complete care for all stages of life from birth to extended elderly care. St. Luke Community Hospital has physicians on site 24-hours a day, 7 days a week handling over 8,000 ER visits per year with efficient, compassionate quality care in a moment’s notice including advanced cardiac life support.

The experienced and dedicated primary care providers deliver family practice, pediatric, internal medicine and obstetrical medical care through three network owned clinics in Ronan, St. Ignatius and Polson. All three clinics provide laboratory and x-ray services. Cardiology, urology, ear, nose and throat, endocrinology, dermatology, neurology and Neurosurgery specialists visit the clinics on a monthly basis.

The St. Luke SurgiCenter provides same-day or in-patient Endoscopic and Laparoscopic procedures in addition to cosmetic, ear/nose/throat, and reconstructive and general orthopedic surgery. The addition of a full-time general surgeon to the St. Luke staff makes a broad range of surgical procedures available right here at home.

The St. Luke imaging department includes state of the art 64-slice CT Scanning, Mammography and Ultra-Sound technology including 3D/4D ultrasound imaging and mobile MRI services. All aspects of the healthcare network are tied together by the advanced digital Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) that gives providers instant access to diagnostic images generated anywhere in the network.

Mission Valley Oxygen and Durable Medical Equipment delivers oxygen supplies and quality durable medical equipment from walkers to hospital beds. In addition, certified therapists evaluate and care for patients with special respiratory needs.

The only community owned healthcare facility in the valley also has a complete physical therapy and fitness center and a 75 bed extended care facility that includes a transitional care unit and adult day care.

St. Luke has finished a $28 million expansion and remodel project that added 61,000 square feet of new space. The new addition was completed November 2008 and the remodel of 32,000 square feet of the existing facility was completed May 2009.

2009 was a record year for the number of babies born at the Ronan hospital and is a reflection of the continued growth of St. Luke since it opened its doors in March of 1953.
